About The Book

The Ocean Investment Protocol is a framework for financial institutions, (re)insurers, ocean industries, governments and development finance institutions (DFIs) to lead the growth of the Sustainable Ocean Economy to achieve SDG14 and other related SDGs. By managing risks and capturing opportunities, these stakeholders have a central role to play — individually and collectively — to make the transition to a strong and innovative sustainable ocean economy that ensures the health of our oceans.

The first version of the Ocean Investment Protocol was published in May 2025. This second edition of the Protocol includes updates reflecting changes in the landscape since 2025 and new recommendations for central banks and financial supervisors.
