Global Compact Network Kenya, has alongside other partners, participated in the launch of the USAID United Society Against Fraud, Waste and Abuse (USAWA) Program.
The program is designed to improve healthcare systems in Kenya by increasing transparency and accountability. Targeted at citizens, businesses, media, and the faith community, the program will raise awareness of their rights as healthcare consumers, encourage reporting of fraud and abuse, and develop their skills to advocate together for transparency and accountability.
As the private sector convener under the Kenya Leadership Integrity Forum (KLiF), we will leverage our expertise and resources on anti-corruption and governance aligned with the Tenth Principle of the UN Global Compact to implement the USAWA Program.
We will build the capacity of trainers drawn from the private sector on county health sector governance and anti-corruption compliance. Leveraging on the Code of Ethics for Business in Kenya, we will enhance commitments to the Code as a way of rallying the private sector in the health care sector to embrace and embed integrity in their operations and strategies.
The Program is being implemented by Transparency International Kenya in partnership with Global Compact Network Kenya, Association of Media Women in Kenya and the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya across 5 counties-Isiolo, Kakamega, Kilifi, Mombasa, and Nakuru.
