Kenya’s leading media house Royal Media Services (RMS) has joined the United Nations Global Compact.
RMS becomes the 3rd media house in Kenya to commit to align its business strategies & operations with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
With 3 TV stations, 13 radio stations and a digital platform, RMS can contribute greatly to educating, raising consciousness and activating citizen agency to drive sustainable development.
In recognizing the role of sustainability in shaping the governance of organisations, RMS Managing Director Wachira Waruru highlighted the need to amplify the sustainability agenda leveraging on the media house platforms.
On her part, Global Compact Network Kenya Executive Director Judy Njino commended RMS for joining the movement and called on them to use their broadcast resources to raise awareness amongst the public on various sustainability related issues.
