Global Compact Network Kenya will host an ESG Essentials Masterclass for Businesses in Uganda, designed to support organizations at the early stages of their sustainability journey.
This introductory session will provide a practical overview of environmental, social, and governance considerations and their growing importance for businesses. Participants will explore how ESG influences access to finance, regulatory compliance, supply chain participation, and long-term competitiveness.
The masterclass will focus on building a clear and accessible understanding of ESG, without technical complexity. Drawing on Uganda’s policy and regulatory context, the session will highlight why ESG matters, what it means in practice, and how organizations can begin taking realistic and actionable first steps.
Participants will also gain insights from business examples across East Africa and receive practical tools to support early-stage implementation.
