Siemens Integrity Initiative: Strengthening Business Integrity in Kenya through Collective Action
About The Book

Building an ethical business environment requires practical support for companies and sustained collaboration across sectors. This brief documents Global Compact Network Kenya’s work under the Siemens Integrity Initiative between 2015 and 2025, supported through the United Nations Global Compact Foundation.

The initiative combined anti-corruption tools, compliance training, peer learning and policy engagement to help businesses strengthen their governance practices. More than 840 businesses signed or aligned with the Code of Ethics for Business in Kenya, while over 60 small and medium-sized enterprises received direct compliance training and implementation support during the programme’s Golden Stretch phase. Business-led platforms, including the Anti-Corruption Working Group, supported continued dialogue and joint action.

The brief highlights changes in company policies, supplier expectations and internal accountability, including the experience of Cityscape Trends Services Limited. It shows how long-term investment in business integrity can strengthen compliance, build trust and support collective action against corruption.
