Global Compact Network Kenya hosted participating companies of the ongoing Social Sustainability Impact Program (SSIP) drawn from Kenya's horticulture sector for a session on gap assessments and action planning on human rights and gender diversity.

The session focused on gender diversity and business and human rights using the Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) tool and Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Gender Gaps Analysis Tool (GGAT). During this session, companies discussed how to develop action plans to address these gaps within their respective organizations.

Launched in June this year in conjunction with the Confederation of Danish Industries, the SSIP has been engaging participating companies on how to align their practices with gender diversity and human rights standards.

By participating in the program, the companies are also equipped to improve their sustainability practices to meet upcoming legislation on business and human rights for African suppliers in the European and US markets. Through this program, participating companies have significantly enhanced their commitment to advancing responsible business conduct and proactively addressed labour and human rights issues.
