Developed by UNICEF, the UN Global Compact and Save the Children – the Children’s Rights and Business Principles (the Principles) are the first comprehensive set of principles to guide companies on the full range of actions they can take in the workplace, marketplace and community to respect and support children’s rights. While the business and human rights agenda has evolved significantly in recent years, a child rights perspective has not yet been explicitly addressed.

The Global Compact Network Kenya, Save the Children- Kenya and UNICEF-Kenya are jointly spearheading the uptake of the principles in Kenya aimed at creating awareness and building capacities of local businesses to support Children’s Rights. For more information on how to engage with the principles, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Empowering women to participate fully in economic life across all sectors and throughout all levels of economic activity is essential to: Build strong economies; Establish more stable and just societies; Achieve internationally-agreed goals for development, sustainability and human rights; Improve quality of life for women, men, families and communities; and Propel businesses’ operations and goals.

To this end, Global Compact Network Kenya in partnership with UN Women- Kenya and United Nations Development Programme Kenya (UNDP Kenya) are collaborating to promote women’s economic empowerment in Kenya through driving the commitment of companies to sign up and implement the Women’s Empowerment Principles.
